Baseball diamonds aren’t always designed with wheelchairs and crutches in mind. After starting
Miracle League, the Rotary Club of Monroe decided to build Rotary Field, a unique ballpark designed
to accommodate the needs of people with disabilities that will serve the entire community.
In 2009, the Rotary Club of Monroe, along with numerous wonderful individuals
and companies, completed this multi-purpose, public park facility. Made possible
through the non-partisan support of our state legislators and representatives,
as well as in-kind donations from numerous companies and individuals, this park
is the only completely handicapped accessible facility of its kind in our state.
Just as the Miracle League programs serves youth from both our local and
surrounding communities, this field will also serve many other communities and
organizations.
Rotary Field is located at 372 Sky River Parkway in Monroe. Click here for a map and to get directions to the East County Senior Center. Rotary Field is just adjacent to it.
The official Grand Opening Celebration was on Saturday September 12th at 12PM. Starting that same day, we began a shortened 4 week season to give the kids the long awaited opportunity to try out their new home! Check out our calendar page for upcoming game times.
We are actively soliciting bids and donations of materials and services from any and all trades as we are still over budget to complete all of the items in the original design including a Restroom/Concession building. There are several ways you can help. You can make a tax deductible donation to help with this, or you can also purchase a personalized bronze baseball plaque to be installed at Rotary Field.
